Lizberries and the Mooney Boys: A Bridge Between IE and IT
October 17, 2026
There are moments when music stops being just a collection of notes and becomes an invisible thread
capable of bringing together places, people, and memories. That’s what happened during two magical nights—the kind that remain etched on your skin and in your heart.
Seeing Cathal, our Irish manager, again is always a celebration. But welcoming him here in Italy, in our homeland, with the same warmth with which he welcomes us in Ireland, feels truly special. Accompanying him were his extraordinary musicians, the Mooney Boys: an authentic band, capable of conveying that pure, visceral sound that instantly makes us feel closer to the Emerald Isle.
Two Irish pubs, one big family
The magic came to life in the warm, timeless atmosphere of two Irish pubs in our area: Pogue Mahones and the Shamrock in Lecco.
These are places where you feel right at home, where wood, a good pint, and music set the stage for laughter, encounters, and heartfelt hugs. For two evenings, these pubs became the meeting point between Ireland and Italy, united by the same passion.
On Stage with the Mooney Boys
And then came the best surprise of all: being called up on stage unexpectedly to share the music, the microphone, and the energy of those evenings with the Mooney Boys.
Joining our voices with theirs in front of such a warm audience was an unexpected and deeply moving gift. It wasn’t just an opportunity to play together, but a moment of genuine connection, where distances melted away and the music did the rest.
The Cranberries with the Heart of Ireland
Playing timeless songs like “Dreams,” “Linger,” and “Zombie” alongside a true Irish band was a spine-tingling journey.
The richness and poetry of the traditional instruments gave these songs special nuances. There was something of the Irish soul in every vibration: the beat of the bodhrán, the sweet melancholy of the tin whistle, the drive of the fiddles, and the energy of the guitars.
Classics we’ve known and loved forever met with different sounds and sensibilities, reminding us just how much The Cranberries’ music speaks to everyone, transcending borders and generations.
Two nights, a bond that goes beyond music
They were two unforgettable nights, filled with knowing glances, mutual admiration, and pure passion for music.
Reuniting with Cathal, sharing the stage with the Mooney Boys, and experiencing these moments in Italy reminded us once again why we love what we do so much.
Because music isn’t just what we play—it’s the people we meet, the friendships we nurture, and the emotions we carry with us even after the stage lights go out.
Thank you, Cathal; thank you, Mooney Boys; and thank you to everyone who shared these two special evenings with us.
Ireland and Italy are closer than they seem. Sometimes all it takes is a song to feel it.
